THAILAND DESTINATION GUIDE

Bangkok

Thailand's capital is the hub every Thailand itinerary runs through — a city where gold-spired temples sit beside sky-train lines and rooftop bars, and where two international airports make it the easiest gateway to combine with Pattaya, Phuket, Hua Hin or Chiang Mai.

Bangkok at a glance

Bangkok is one of the most visited cities in Asia and the natural starting point for almost every Thailand program we build for Indian agents. It is also the country's most populous city, and the contrast is part of the appeal: centuries-old temples and the Grand Palace stand a few blocks from glass towers, floating markets and some of the busiest shopping malls in the region.

For agents, Bangkok's real strength is connectivity. The city is served by two international airports — Suvarnabhumi, about 31.5 km from the centre, and Don Muang, about 23 km out — and links onward to every other Thailand destination we sell by short domestic flight or road transfer. That makes it the default first or last stop on multi-centre itineraries with Pattaya, Phuket, Krabi, Hua Hin, Chiang Mai and Koh Samui.

Within the city, guests move mainly by taxi, the BTS Skytrain, or local buses, so a 3-4 night Bangkok stay works well for groups, honeymooners and MICE delegates alike — enough time for temples, a river dinner cruise, shopping and one full-day excursion, without the itinerary feeling rushed.

Top experiences

Wat Arun & Wat Pho

The Temple of Dawn on the river and the reclining Buddha temple nearby — the classic half-day temple circuit.

The Grand Palace

Former royal residence and Thailand's most photographed heritage site.

Chao Phraya dinner cruise

Sunset river cruise past illuminated temples and the modern skyline.

Chatuchak Weekend Market

One of the largest markets in the world — a full morning of shopping.

Shopping and street food served straight from the boat.

Safari World & Dream World

Frequently asked questions

How many nights should we sell for Bangkok on its own?
3 nights is enough for temples, a river cruise and one shopping or theme-park day; 4 nights gives room for a day trip such as Ayutthaya.
Which airport should we book into, Suvarnabhumi or Don Muang?
Suvarnabhumi handles most international and full-service carriers; Don Muang is used mainly by low-cost airlines. Check your client's carrier before confirming hotel transfers.
Is Bangkok suitable for families with young children?
Yes — Safari World, Dream World and Sea Life Ocean World are built for family groups, and most 4-5 star hotels offer connecting or family rooms.
What is the best time of year to sell Bangkok?
November to February is coolest and most comfortable; March to May is hot, and May to October brings the monsoon with short afternoon showers.
Can Bangkok be combined with more than one other destination?
Yes — it is the most common connecting point in our Thailand programs and pairs easily with Pattaya, Phuket, Hua Hin, Chiang Mai or Koh Samui within the same trip.
Do clients need a visa for Thailand?
Visa requirements depend on your client's passport and current Thai immigration rules at the time of travel — please confirm the latest position with us before quoting.
