Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City to Mui Ne (about 5 hours / 220 km one way)
Mui Ne is a fishing town on Vietnam's south-central coast, known for its stretch of South China Sea beachfront and the sand dunes just inland. After the coach transfer from Ho Chi Minh City, the rest of the day is free to walk the beach or settle into the hotel before the dune excursion.
Day 2: Mui Ne city tour
The morning is left free before a 2pm jeep tour departs to Suoi Tien, known as the Fairy Stream, followed by a fishing village and the White and Red Sand Dunes, timed to end with sunset over the dunes.
Day 3: Mui Ne to Ho Chi Minh City (about 5 hours / 220 km one way)
A coach transfer returns the group to Ho Chi Minh City, where a representative meets them at the bus station for transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is free after check-in.
Day 4: Cu Chi Tunnels and Ho Chi Minh City half-day tour (about 1½ hours / 70 km one way)
The morning covers the Cu Chi Tunnels, an extensive underground network built by Vietnamese resistance fighters during the long struggle for independence. In the afternoon, a walking tour of the city centre takes in the former Presidential Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Old Saigon Post Office, Dong Khoi Street, the Continental Hotel, the Opera House and City Hall.
Day 5: Mekong Delta excursion (about 2 hours / 80 km one way)
A two-hour drive southwest reaches the Mekong Delta, where a boat cruise through the Vam Xep canal leads to a small islet for a walk past orchards and villages. The day includes a bee farm with honey tea and fruit tasting, a coconut-candy workshop, and a narrow-canal row-boat ride before returning to Ho Chi Minh City via My Tho by motorised boat.
Day 6: Vung Tau beach day trip (about 2½ hours / 100 km one way)
The day trip to Vung Tau includes the climb of 847 steps to the 32-metre Jesus Christ statue, one of the tallest of its kind in Asia, with arms spanning about 18.4 metres. After lunch at a local restaurant, free time on Thuy Van Beach — a roughly 10 km stretch of fine sand — precedes the drive back to Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 7: Fly to Phu Quoc, visit Sao Beach
A domestic flight from Tan Son Nhat Airport connects Ho Chi Minh City with Phu Quoc, where a representative meets the group before check-in. The same day covers Sao Beach's white sand and clear water, Phu Quoc Prison's wartime history exhibits, Ho Quoc Pagoda's hilltop views, Dinh Cau Temple by the market, sunset at Truong Beach and the Dinh Cau Night Market for street food and souvenirs.
Day 8: Three-island snorkelling tour
A full day off the south coast of Phu Quoc covers snorkelling at three separate spots — Finger Island, Dam Ngang Island and May Rut Island — in the Gulf of Thailand, taking in the coral formations and marine life at each stop.
Day 9: Departure from Phu Quoc
The day is kept free until transfer to Phu Quoc International Airport for the onward or homeward flight, closing a trip that moved from mainland dunes and city day trips to an island finish.
