Every transfer on this itinerary is by road, which sets it apart from routings that fly between regions — the trade-off is longer travel days in exchange for watching the landscape change in real time, from Ho Chi Minh City's traffic to the coastal desert around Mui Ne, then up into Da Lat's pine forests before dropping back to sea level at Nha Trang. It suits clients who don't mind four to five hours in a vehicle on transfer days and want a genuine sense of covering ground.
The first three nights in Ho Chi Minh City cover Cu Chi Tunnels, the Mekong Delta and the city's colonial core, after which the pace shifts to shorter, scenery-led stops: Mui Ne's white and red sand dunes by jeep, Da Lat's flower parks and waterfalls for a single cooler night, and two final nights in Nha Trang for beach time and Vinpearl Land. Dry season, roughly February to August, gives the most reliable road conditions across all three regions.

Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Ho Chi Minh City (about a 30-minute, 10 km transfer from the airport)
Ho Chi Minh City, still widely known as Saigon, is Vietnam's largest city and commercial centre, a dense mix of colonial-era landmarks, modern towers and street life that runs late into the evening. Arrival days are typically kept easy, with an optional walk around the central districts to get a first feel for the city's pace.
Day 2: Cu Chi Tunnels and Ho Chi Minh City half-day tour (about 1½ hours / 70 km one way)
The morning covers the Cu Chi Tunnels, an extensive underground network built by Vietnamese resistance fighters during the long struggle for independence. In the afternoon, a walking tour of the city centre takes in the former Presidential Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Old Saigon Post Office, Dong Khoi Street, the Continental Hotel, the Opera House and City Hall.
Day 3: Mekong Delta tour (about 2 hours / 80 km one way)
A two-hour drive southwest reaches the Mekong Delta, where a boat cruise through the Vam Xep canal leads to a small islet for a walk past orchards and villages. The day includes a bee farm with honey tea and fruit tasting, a coconut-candy workshop, and a narrow-canal row-boat ride before returning to Ho Chi Minh City via My Tho by motorised boat.
Day 4: Ho Chi Minh City to Mui Ne (about 5 hours / 220 km one way)
A coach transfer runs from Ho Chi Minh City to Mui Ne, a fishing town on Vietnam's south-central coast known for its sand dunes and stretch of South China Sea beachfront. The rest of the day is free after check-in, with time to walk the beach or settle in before the dune excursion the next day.
Day 5: Mui Ne city tour
The morning is left free before a 2pm jeep tour departs to Suoi Tien, known as the Fairy Stream, followed by a fishing village and the White and Red Sand Dunes, timed to end with sunset over the dunes.
Day 6: Mui Ne to Da Lat (about 4 hours / 170 km one way)
The road climbs from Mui Ne's coastal desert into Da Lat's cooler highland air, with a representative meeting the group at the bus station for transfer to the hotel. After check-in, the afternoon covers Langbiang mountain, Datanla Waterfall and the Da Lat Flower Park.
Day 7: Da Lat to Nha Trang (about 3½ hours / 140 km one way)
A coach transfer descends from Da Lat's highlands back to sea level at Nha Trang, Vietnam's best-known central coast beach city. The journey passes through changing terrain from pine forest to coastal plain, arriving in time to settle into the hotel for the two-night stay.
Day 8: Nha Trang city tour
The day covers Ponagar Champa Temple, a cluster of Hindu-influenced towers dating from the 7th to 12th centuries, followed by the Nha Trang Aquarium and Vinpearl Land, an island amusement and cable-car complex offshore.
Day 9: Nha Trang to Cam Ranh Airport, departure (about 1 hour / 50 km one way)
The final transfer runs to Cam Ranh International Airport for the onward or homeward flight, ending a trip that stayed on the road throughout rather than using any domestic flight sector.
