Package overview
This is the shortest way to combine Ho Chi Minh City with Mui Ne's coastal desert scenery, using road transfers throughout rather than a domestic flight. The three Ho Chi Minh City nights cover Cu Chi Tunnels and the Mekong Delta before the roughly five-hour drive to Mui Ne, where two nights allow time for the jeep tour of the White and Red Sand Dunes.
Unlike the longer nine-day itineraries that continue from Mui Ne up through Da Lat to Nha Trang, this routing turns back to Ho Chi Minh City for departure, which suits clients with less time or who want a simpler two-destination trip. It runs well from February to August, when road conditions and dune visibility are generally best.

Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Ho Chi Minh City (about a 30-minute, 10 km transfer from the airport)
Ho Chi Minh City, still widely known as Saigon, is Vietnam's largest city and commercial hub, mixing colonial-era landmarks with fast-moving modern street life. Arrival afternoons are usually kept easy, with an optional walk through the central districts.
Day 2: Cu Chi Tunnels and Ho Chi Minh City half-day tour (about 1½ hours / 70 km one way)
The morning covers the Cu Chi Tunnels, an extensive underground network built by Vietnamese resistance fighters during the long struggle for independence. In the afternoon, a walking tour of the city centre takes in the former Presidential Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Old Saigon Post Office, Dong Khoi Street, the Continental Hotel, the Opera House and City Hall.
Day 3: Mekong Delta tour (about 2 hours / 80 km one way)
A two-hour drive southwest reaches the Mekong Delta, where a boat cruise through the Vam Xep canal leads to a small islet for a walk past orchards and villages. The day includes a bee farm with honey tea and fruit tasting, a coconut-candy workshop, and a narrow-canal row-boat ride before returning to Ho Chi Minh City via My Tho by motorised boat.
Day 4: Ho Chi Minh City to Mui Ne (about 5 hours / 220 km one way)
A coach transfer runs from Ho Chi Minh City to Mui Ne, a fishing town on Vietnam's south-central coast known for its sand dunes and stretch of South China Sea beachfront. The rest of the day is free after check-in, with time to walk the beach before the dune excursion the next day.
Day 5: Mui Ne city tour
The morning is left free before a 2pm jeep tour departs to Suoi Tien, known as the Fairy Stream, followed by a fishing village and the White and Red Sand Dunes, timed to end with sunset over the dunes.
Day 6: Mui Ne to Ho Chi Minh City, airport departure (about 5 hours / 220 km one way)
A coach transfer returns the group to Ho Chi Minh City, where a representative meets them for the transfer directly to Tan Son Nhat International Airport for the onward or homeward flight.
