Package overview
Laos suits honeymoon positioning better than most Southeast Asian destinations Indian agents already sell, precisely because so few clients have been — there's a sense of discovery in Vang Vieng's limestone karsts, Vientiane's low-rise riverfront and Luang Prabang's UNESCO-listed old town that's harder to find in more familiar itineraries. This seven-day version moves overland between all three stops, including a scenic uphill trek from Vang Vieng towards Luang Prabang, rather than relying on a domestic flight.
Two full nights each in Vang Vieng and Luang Prabang give couples room to slow down — a Nam Song river float, a Blue Lagoon swim, a sunset climb up Mount Phousi — without the itinerary feeling like a checklist. It's best sold as a private-basis trip rather than SIC, and runs most comfortably from November to February, when river and trekking conditions are at their easiest.

Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Vientiane, city tour
The afternoon covers Wat Sisaket, the capital's oldest surviving temple, dating to 1818, before continuing to the Patuxay Monument, Vientiane's own Arc de Triomphe. The day ends with a sunset boat trip on the Mekong River and a visit to Wat Prakeo, the former royal temple that once held the Emerald Buddha image.
Day 2: Buddha Park, transfer to Vang Vieng
After checking in and visiting Buddha Park, with its hundreds of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures imported from India, the group heads for Vang Vieng. En route there are stops at the KM52 Hmong market and Ban Tha Heu, a village known for dried fish, before arriving in Vang Vieng for a relaxed evening.
Day 3: Vang Vieng sightseeing
A morning at the local market is followed by a visit to Tham Phukham Cave and a swim at the Blue Lagoon. In the afternoon, a longtail boat ride on the Nam Song River takes in the karst scenery around town, with a stop at an organic farm to try mulberry tea before returning for the night in Vang Vieng.
Day 4: Vang Vieng to Luang Prabang (trek)
After checking out, the route passes Tham Yang Cave before an uphill trek towards Luang Prabang, with stops at hill-tribe settlements along the way and views over the surrounding countryside. It's the most physically active day on the itinerary, ending with an overnight stay in Luang Prabang.
Day 5: Luang Prabang city tour and Pak Ou Caves
A visit to the National Museum at the former Royal Palace and Luang Prabang's temples, including Wat Xiengthong, is followed by an afternoon Mekong cruise to the Pak Ou Caves, with a stop at Ban Xang Hai to see rice wine being made. The caves hold thousands of gold-leafed Buddha statues left by pilgrims, and the day closes with sunset views from the top of Mount Phousi's 328 steps.
Day 6: Luang Prabang city tour and Kuang Si Falls
A second day around Luang Prabang built around Kuang Si Falls, a multi-tiered waterfall with turquoise pools and forest trails a short drive from town, popular for swimming and a relaxed final full day together before departure.
Day 7: Departure
Transfer to Luang Prabang International Airport for the onward or homeward flight, ending a week that has moved overland through three of Laos's most distinctive towns.
