The first full day here runs the same comprehensive Angkor circuit as our 2-night Siem Reap temple product — Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom's Bayon and terraces, jungle-clad Ta Prohm and a Pre Rup sunset — but the extra night allows a second full day dedicated to Phnom Kulen, roughly 58km north of town.
Phnom Kulen is where King Jayavarman II proclaimed Khmer independence in 804 CE, and the day takes in the River of a Thousand Lingas, a reclining Buddha carved into a boulder, a waterfall and a stop at Banteay Srey village to see palm sugar production. It suits clients wanting a nature and pilgrimage dimension alongside the main temples.

Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Siem Reap, city tour
Arrival in Siem Reap and transfer to the hotel, with a short city orientation to follow — the riverside area, Old Market and Pub Street give a first sense of the town before the two full excursion days begin. The evening is free.
Day 2: Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and Ta Prohm circuit
The day begins at Angkor Wat, raised in the early 12th century for King Suryavarman II, then moves into Angkor Thom, the walled last Khmer capital, entering via the South Gate to Bayon Temple and its carved stone faces.
The route continues past the Terrace of the Elephants and Terrace of the Leper King to Ta Prohm, left half-swallowed by banyan tree roots and known to many as the 'Tomb Raider' temple, before the group heads to Pre Rup for sunset.
Day 3: Phnom Kulen, River of a Thousand Lingas and waterfall
A roughly 58km drive north of Siem Reap leads to Phnom Kulen, considered a holy mountain by both Hindus and Buddhists and the site where King Jayavarman II proclaimed Khmer independence from Java in 804 CE. The visit takes in the River of a Thousand Lingas, carved into the riverbed in honour of Shiva, and a reclining Buddha statue carved into a boulder.
A waterfall inside Kulen National Park offers a shaded stop for a picnic lunch, after which the group returns toward Siem Reap via Banteay Srey village to see local palm sugar production before the drive back to the hotel.
Day 4: Departure from Siem Reap
Free time until the private transfer to Siem Reap International Airport for the onward or return flight; no further sightseeing is scheduled on the departure day.
