Package overview
This is the longer sibling of Indochina Signature's Timang Adventure package, keeping the same Merapi volcano jeep tour, Timang Beach gondola crossing and Borobudur temple visit, then adding a fourth activity day on the Walisongo trail, the pilgrimage route linking the tombs of Java's nine historic Islamic saints. Local ojek motorbikes are used to reach some of the trail's sites, a detail carried over directly from the operator's own service list.
The extra day makes this a better fit than the 4D3N version for groups who want a fuller week in Yogyakarta before flying onward, or for clients specifically interested in Javanese Islamic heritage alongside the standard volcano-and-temple combination. As with the shorter package, guiding is arranged from six travelers upward, and the optional Prambanan add-on carries its own separate charge that agents should confirm with the operator.
Trip highlights
- Open-jeep tour across Mount Merapi's volcanic terrain
- Timang Beach cable gondola crossing over the surf
- Half-day visit to Borobudur temple by VW jeep
- Walisongo pilgrimage trail linking sites tied to Java's nine Islamic saints
- Optional paid add-on to Prambanan temple
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Yogyakarta
Guests arrive in Yogyakarta and transfer to their hotel by private car. As Central Java's cultural hub, the city is the standard base for reaching Borobudur, the Gunung Kidul coast and Merapi, and this first day is left open for rest before the jeep excursions begin.
Day 2: Mount Merapi jeep tour and Timang Beach crossing
An open-top jeep runs across Mount Merapi's ash fields and volcanic ridges, one of Java's most active volcanoes, before the group continues by jeep to Timang Beach on the Gunung Kidul coast. There, travelers can cross to a small rocky islet by traditional wooden gondola suspended over the surf, the coastline's best-known adventure activity.
Day 3: Borobudur temple by VW jeep
The group travels by VW jeep to Borobudur, the ninth-century Buddhist monument and UNESCO World Heritage Site near Yogyakarta. Clients wanting a second temple can add Prambanan, the city's major Hindu complex, at an additional charge arranged directly with the operator.
Day 4: Walisongo pilgrimage trail
This day follows part of the Walisongo trail, the pilgrimage route associated with the nine saints credited with spreading Islam across Java, with local ojek motorbikes used to reach some of the sites. It is a change of pace from the previous jeep days, more cultural than physical, and suits clients interested in Javanese religious history.
Day 5: Departure
The morning is left free for a last breakfast and packing time before a private transfer to Yogyakarta airport for the outbound flight. After four days that mix two off-road jeep excursions with a temple visit and a cultural trail, this unhurried final morning gives the group a calm end to the trip rather than an early rushed checkout.
