INDONESIA TOUR PACKAGE

3 Days / 2 Nights Yogyakarta Classic Tour Package

A short, classic Yogyakarta package built around the region's two signature half-day tours — Borobudur by vintage VW and an off-road jeep excursion — for clients with limited time who still want the headline sights. It suits first-time Java visitors and short stopovers.

Duration3 days / 2 nights
RouteYogyakarta city, Borobudur and Merapi/Timang (single base)
Best forFirst-time Java visitors and short stopovers wanting the classic sights
DepartureOn request, private car/bus basis; guide provided from six travellers

Package overview

This package is built around Yogyakarta's two best-known day activities: a VW convoy tour to Borobudur, the world's largest Buddhist temple, and an off-road jeep excursion to either Mount Merapi's lava fields or Timang Beach. Transfers are arranged to match each traveller's flight schedule, and accommodation is booked on a twin or triple-share basis throughout the stay, with a guide included for larger groups.

Because it is only three days, the itinerary keeps to one full touring day between arrival and departure rather than spreading activities across several days. Agents selling to clients who also want Prambanan Temple should note it is not included by default and is quoted separately as a paid add-on at extra cost per traveller, arranged on request at booking.

Trip highlights

  • A VW convoy tour of Borobudur, the world's largest Buddhist temple
  • An off-road jeep excursion to Mount Merapi's lava fields or Timang Beach
  • English or Malay-speaking guiding for groups of six or more
  • Private air-conditioned car or bus transport throughout
  • Optional Prambanan Temple add-on and Walisongo pilgrimage stops available

Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Yogyakarta, transfer to hotel

Guests are met on arrival and transferred privately to their hotel, with the timing built around each traveller's flight schedule. The rest of the day is free, giving the group time to settle in and rest after the journey before the main touring day begins the following morning.

Day 2: Borobudur VW tour and Merapi or Timang jeep excursion

This is the main touring day, combining a VW convoy visit to Borobudur, the ninth-century Buddhist temple whose terraced stupas are one of Java's most recognisable sights, with an off-road jeep excursion to either Mount Merapi's volcanic lava fields or Timang Beach on the south coast. Parking and entrance fees are covered as part of the package.

Day 3: Departure, transfer to airport

After breakfast, guests are transferred to the airport in time for their departure flight, closing out the three-day Yogyakarta package. Travellers wanting to fit in Prambanan Temple or Walisongo pilgrimage sites should raise it in advance so it can be quoted as an extra.

Frequently asked questions

Is Prambanan Temple included in this package?
No, Prambanan is not included by default; it can be added for an extra charge per person, so please flag it at booking if your client wants both major temples on the same trip.
Does the jeep tour go to Mount Merapi or Timang Beach — can we choose?
The package lists Merapi and Timang together as the jeep excursion option; please confirm with us at booking which specific route will run, since the two sites are in different directions from Yogyakarta and are not both covered on one jeep day.
Is a guide provided for smaller groups?
An English or Malay-speaking guide is arranged for groups of six travellers or more; smaller parties should check with us on guiding arrangements, as they may share a guide or tour with limited narration.
Is tipping compulsory on this package?
Yes, the package terms include a compulsory tip, higher for individual (FIT) bookings than for group bookings; please build this into your client's cost expectations rather than treating it as optional.
What is the best season to visit Yogyakarta for this itinerary?
The dry season from around April to October gives the most comfortable conditions for the outdoor Borobudur and jeep excursions; the wet season is still workable but afternoon showers are more likely.
